Kazakhstan Announced Investigation of Collected Materials in AZAL Plane Crash Case

AZAL plane crash investigation enters second phase: experts studying collected materials

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Report, the head of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev, spoke in the Senate about the current status of the investigation into the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft.

"The first stage - collection of materials - has already been completed. We are now at the second stage - examining the collected data. As part of this work, our specialists, together with invited foreign experts and ICAO representatives, visited Baku, Grozny, and Rostov-on-Don. This is the information that I can share at the moment," Karabaev noted.

The Minister also emphasized that all materials for the investigation are located on the territory of Kazakhstan.

Recall that the AZAL passenger plane, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, crashed on December 25, 2024, near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. The tragedy claimed the lives of 38 people out of 67 on board, while 29 passengers were rescued.

According to preliminary data, the plane crash occurred as a result of physical and technical external impact in the airspace of Russia over Grozny.
