In Lviv, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy died as a result of a brazen attack

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Ukrainian media, the tragic incident occurred on Saturday, August 30, around noon. The National Police of Ukraine officially confirmed the death of the well-known politician. Medics who arrived at the scene only confirmed the death of a man born in 1971 - help was no longer needed.

The head of the Lviv Regional Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, announced an unprecedented mobilization of all specialized services in the region to capture the shooter. Law enforcement officers have launched a large-scale operation aimed at establishing the identity and whereabouts of the criminal.

According to information from the preliminary investigation, the attacker fired five shots at the politician. The shocking fact was that the killer turned out to be a person in a delivery service courier uniform, who fled immediately after committing the crime.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later made an official confirmation of the tragedy. "Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported on the first circumstances of the terrible murder in Lviv. Andriy Parubiy has died. My condolences to his family and friends," the head of state wrote on his Telegram channel.

Andriy Parubiy was one of the key figures in the political life of Ukraine. From 2016 to 2019, he headed the Verkhovna Rada, actively participated in the events of Euromaidan, and led the self-defense forces during the Revolution of Dignity. Parubiy began his political path in the 1990s, becoming one of the founders of the Social-National Party of Ukraine, which later transformed into the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda".
