In Israel, the oldest Holocaust witness has died at the age of 110

In Israel, at the age of 111, Nehama Grossman passed away — the oldest resident of the country and a witness to the tragic events of the Holocaust. The long-lived woman died at the age of 110.

As reported by TUT.AZ, citing the Ynet portal, Grossman died peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones at her home in the southern city of Arad, where she had lived for many years.

"Her death occurred on Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel (April 25 - ed.)," - notes the publication, emphasizing the symbolism of this date.

Nehama Grossman was born in 1914 and spent her entire long life in Israel, creating a large and strong family. According to her son Vladimir Shvets, despite the unbearable trials that fell to his mother's lot, she managed to overcome them with amazing strength of spirit and resilience.

"She suffered terribly during the war. They fled from the Nazis, and recently she even had dreams that the Nazis were choking her. These memories never left her. I hope that now she is at peace. Until the very end, she was of sound mind and spoke with us," - shared the memories of the deceased's daughter, Elena Shvets.
