Hundreds of trucks with Armenian fruits turned away at the Russian border

Russian border guards did not allow Armenian agricultural products into the territory of the Russian Federation

Hundreds of trucks with Armenian plums, peaches, and grapes were forced to turn back at the Russian border, according to Armenian media. Vehicles with seasonal fruits were unable to deliver goods to Russian consumers.

Representatives of the Russian side explained the import ban by the non-compliance of Armenian products with established phytosanitary requirements.

The situation caused resonance in Armenian political circles. Garnik Danielyan, a deputy of the parliamentary faction "Armenia," emphasized that the problem goes beyond economic relations and has a clear political subtext.
