Revolutionary breakthrough: the world's first HIV vaccine with almost absolute protection created in the USA
American scientists have presented Yeztugo — the first vaccine in history against HIV, providing virtually one hundred percent protection from the dangerous virus, reports Mash.
The main advantage of this innovative development is its exceptional ease of use. Vaccination needs to be administered only twice a year. The drug brilliantly passed two stages of clinical trials, which involved seven thousand volunteers. The results are impressive — the effectiveness of protection ranged from 99 to 100%.
"The vaccine works as a 'biological condom' - completely blocking virus transmission even during questionable contacts. According to the developers, this will help stop the epidemic. The drug took almost 20 years to create. It will enter the US market by the end of the year, and may soon appear in other countries - documents are already being prepared," the publication states.
The new vaccine significantly surpasses existing prevention methods, which require either daily pill intake or injections every few months. Yeztugo offers the most long-lasting and reliable form of protection against HIV infection, which could be a real breakthrough in the fight against the spread of the virus.
