EU plans to double supplies of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine

European Union intends to double the supply of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine in 2024

According to Euronews, the chairman of the EU Military Committee Robert Brieger announced extensive plans to increase military aid.

"The goal is to deliver 2 million large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine during the current year. That means doubling the amount that was supplied last year," he stated.

Brieger's statement came after the conclusion of an important meeting of European Union defense service leaders held in Brussels.

According to Brieger, to achieve this goal, the European Union will actively encourage member countries to increase ammunition production and procurement.

"We are trying to encourage member states to buy more, produce even more, using contracts concluded by the European Defense Agency. But we are also putting forward new initiatives, either financial ones or through intensifying cooperation with Ukraine's defense industry," he explained.
