English football legend David Beckham underwent surgery due to an old injury. This is reported by The Sun.
According to the publication, surgical intervention was required due to the consequences of a wrist fracture sustained by the famous midfielder back in May 2003 during a friendly match against South Africa (2:1).
During the treatment of the injury, doctors installed a special screw in the footballer's forearm, which was supposed to dissolve over time. However, this did not happen properly, which caused Beckham periodic pain. In recent months, the pain became so intense that repeat surgery was required.
Notably, the public learned about the surgical intervention thanks to the footballer's wife Victoria Beckham, who posted a photo of her husband on a hospital bed on social media with a touching caption: "Get well, daddy".
