Australia expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for assistance in evacuating its citizens from Iran

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the head of the Australian Foreign Ministry Penny Wong.

During the conversation, the diplomats discussed in detail the tense security situation that has arisen against the background of the escalation of the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

The Australian Foreign Minister informed the Azerbaijani side about the evacuation of Australian citizens from the territory of the Islamic Republic and expressed deep appreciation for the substantial support provided by Azerbaijan in this important operation.

The ministers also exchanged views on key bilateral issues of mutual interest and particularly emphasized the importance of the mechanism of regular consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.
