Australia has launched the unprecedented in scale international military exercise Talisman Sabre 2025, gathering under its banners over 35 thousand military personnel from 19 countries around the world. The information was confirmed by the Australian Ministry of Defense, reports RIA Novosti.
Vice Admiral Justin Jones, who heads joint operations, emphasized that the grand maneuvers will cover all possible theaters of military operations: maritime expanses, land, airspace, space, and cyberspace.
Talisman Saber represents traditional international exercises organized jointly by Australia and the United States. Conducted with a two-year periodicity, they demonstrate the coordinated actions of the armed forces of both powers. In 2025, the large-scale maneuvers began on July 13 with an impressive opening ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier "Adelaide".
Military personnel from the USA, Canada, Fiji, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Norway, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga, and Great Britain are involved in the Talisman Sabre 2025 military exercises.
According to information from the defense department, for three weeks the military of Australia and partner countries will hone their combat skills in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Christmas Island. The exercise program is impressive in its diversity: combat firing, field training, troop preparation, landing operations, land maneuvers, air battles, and naval operations.
