Legendary actor Graham Greene has passed away: the star of "Dances with Wolves" died in Toronto at the age of 73
Famous Canadian actor Graham Greene died in one of the hospitals in Toronto. The sad news was confirmed by the artist's representative in a conversation with the New York Post. According to him, the 73-year-old actor "lost his battle with illness" and is now "finally free." His wife Hilary Blackmore was by his side in the last minutes of his life.
The exact cause of death of the talented artist has not yet been disclosed.
Graham Greene was born on June 22, 1952, on the Six Nations Indian Reserve in Canada. On screen, he often embodied the images of charismatic representatives of the indigenous peoples of North America. The actor began his journey in cinema in 1979 with a role in the drama series "The Great Detective." True success came to him in 1990 after participating in the Oscar-winning film "Dances with Wolves," for which Greene was nominated for an Academy Award.
In his interviews, the actor humorously talked about accidentally entering the world of cinema after working in various professions.
"I started as a carpenter, welder, draftsman, carpet layer, tour mechanic, and sound engineer. I accidentally got into the acting profession and thought about it like this: 'These people protect me from the sun, give me food and water, take me where I say what I need to say, and then bring me back. Wow - it's like a dog's life,'" he joked.
During his impressive career, Graham Greene appeared in 189 films and TV series. Viewers could see him in such well-known films as "The Green Mile," "The King of Tulsa," "Twilight," "Molly's Game," "Die Hard," and many others.
