New high-tech weighing station will appear on the Zangezur Corridor in Armenia by 2026
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Armenian media, a modern stationary weighing station for controlling heavy and oversized transport will be built in the southern region of Syunik, through which the strategically important Zangezur Corridor will pass.
The project is being implemented through joint efforts of the Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of Armenia and the "Road Department" fund. The weighing station will be located at the 198-199 kilometer mark of the M-2 interstate highway in Syunik region. Construction of the facility will begin immediately after completion of all necessary approvals and receipt of urban planning documentation.
The station will fully comply with international standards, equipped with modern furniture and advanced technical equipment. The launch of the facility is planned for next year.
Note that a stationary weighing station for heavy and oversized vehicles is an automatic weight and dimension control point (APVGK), which automatically measures the mass and dimensions of trucks passing through a special frame without stopping, and transmits data to a unified center for checking permits and imposing fines in case of exceeding permissible parameters.
