A second powerful flare occurred on the Sun today

Powerful solar flare of class M4.4 illuminated the sky on Tuesday

As reported to TASS by the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG"), the second flare of the penultimate power class for the day has been recorded on the Sun.

"On August 5 at 18:53 Moscow time (19:53 Baku time - ed.) in the X-ray range in sunspot group 4168 (N03W08), an M4.4 flare with a duration of 12 minutes was registered," specialists of the institute said.

Earlier the same day, a flare of lesser intensity - class M1.2 - was observed.

Since the beginning of August, five M-class flares have already occurred on our luminary, and all of them were registered in the same group of sunspots.
