Well-known Kamchatka businessman Igor Kan has passed away. The tragedy occurred in the air when the 59-year-old entrepreneur became ill during the helicopter landing near the Krasheninnikov volcano.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Igor Kan was a prominent representative of the region's fishing industry. For many years, he successfully developed his business in the field of coastal marine fishing. Additionally, the entrepreneur headed LLC "Service Hotel and SPA" — a company with an impressive authorized capital exceeding 40 million rubles.
According to preliminary information, the fatal flight was organized by Kan for his acquaintances to show the picturesque views of the Kronotsky Reserve from a bird's eye view.
It is reported that the helicopter passengers did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident. Three tourists who were on board were safely delivered to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Currently, the Transport Prosecutor's Office together with the Investigative Committee are conducting a thorough investigation of all circumstances of the incident.
