Doctor revealed the ideal time for a shower that will help improve sleep
According to Dr. Bhavini Shah from the medical service LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor, a warm shower before bed can be a real helper for quality rest. As The Sun reports, properly timed water procedures promote natural cooling of the body.
"The optimal option is to take a warm shower for 10-15 minutes about an hour before you plan to go to bed. As bedtime approaches, the internal body temperature naturally decreases, while the skin temperature of the extremities increases," the expert explained.
The medic also noted that a warm shower effectively relaxes muscles and relieves physical tension. To enhance the effect, Shah recommends finishing the procedure with a short 30-second cool water rinse. "Such a gradual decrease in temperature helps accelerate the natural cooling process of your body," the doctor emphasized in conversation with the publication.
