As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to the Daily Mirror, the doctor is referring to ordinary dates. According to his recommendation, the optimal daily portion is two to three fruits. Despite their pronounced sweetness, dates in this quantity do not cause noticeable spikes in blood sugar levels.
The specialist clarified that dates are distinguished by their high fiber content, which means they help regulate digestion and generally improve overall well-being. In addition, the product has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, helping to keep cholesterol levels under control.
Amir Khan particularly highlighted the role of antioxidants, which dates are rich in: they can potentially suppress inflammatory processes and support brain health. According to preliminary scientific data, this could become a factor in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease, however researchers urge not to rush to final conclusions and to wait for additional confirmation.
