Russian medical expert reveals nutrition secrets for luxurious and healthy hair
As reported by TUT.AZ, Dmitry Karpenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy at the Institute of Clinical Medicine of Pirogov University, in a conversation with "Gazeta.Ru" named five key products that can transform the condition of hair.
The specialist emphasized that daily diet directly affects the function of hair follicles, metabolic processes, as well as hormonal and immune systems. A balanced diet not only maintains hair beauty but also serves as reliable protection against hair loss, especially during stressful periods or after viral infections.
"One of the most effective products for maintaining hair health is rightfully considered to be nuts - primarily almonds. They are rich in vitamin E, known as a powerful antioxidant. This vitamin improves microcirculation in the scalp, provides nutrition to hair follicles, and protects cells from destruction by free radicals. In addition, almonds contain polyunsaturated fatty acids that strengthen the structure of hair, making it more elastic, soft, and silky," the doctor explained.
Karpenko also noted the importance of pumpkin seeds as a valuable source of zinc, which is necessary for the normal functioning of the immune system, synthesis of sex hormones, and regulation of metabolic processes in the skin and hair follicles.
"Legumes, especially lentils, should also be present in the diet. They are rich in B vitamins, which are necessary for maintaining normal blood supply to the scalp. These vitamins improve the nutrition of hair follicles, thereby stimulating the growth of strong and healthy hair. Bell pepper is an excellent source of vitamin C, which plays a key role in collagen synthesis. This protein is necessary for the strength of blood vessels, including capillaries that provide nutrition to the scalp. Thus, vitamin C contributes not only to hair growth but also to its restoration after damage," the expert explained.
Completing the list is carrot, rich in vitamin A, which regulates the activity of sebaceous glands. With a sufficient level of this vitamin, hair acquires a healthy shine, gets dirty less often, and becomes less brittle. Vitamin A is also involved in the renewal of epithelial cells, making the scalp healthier and more resistant to external irritants.
