Products that deplete tooth enamel of minerals have been identified

Russian dentists sound the alarm: everyday food products can imperceptibly destroy the health of your teeth. According to recent studies, fruits, acidic products, sweet drinks, and confectionery significantly increase the porosity of tooth enamel, washing out valuable minerals from it.

As reported by TUT.AZ, orthodontist Alena Kopetskaya in a conversation with "Gazeta.Ru" revealed a disturbing truth: to protect teeth, it is not enough to simply maintain oral hygiene.

"Acid and sugar can contribute to the demineralization of enamel, that is, increasing its porosity. And porous enamel is less resistant to bacterial exposure," the specialist warned in an interview with the publication.

The expert draws special attention to the insidious role of sugar, which becomes a catalyst for destructive processes in the oral cavity. "The more sugar on the surface of the teeth, the faster bacteria multiply and the more aggressive their impact," emphasized Kopetskaya.

As reliable protection, the dentist strongly recommends using hygiene products with fluoride and regularly including in the diet foods rich in calcium and phosphorus, such as cottage cheese, fish, and cheese. These vital minerals form dense "crystals" that are integrated into the enamel structure, significantly increasing its strength and creating a reliable barrier against external influences.
