According to HuffPost, the secret is to regularly lie on the floor on your stomach and stay in this position for several minutes. The medical professional especially emphasized the importance of this exercise for office workers who spend most of the day sitting. "This exercise stretches the muscles located in the front of the thigh. It forces the lower back and hips to extend, which doesn't happen in other body positions," explains the physiotherapist.
Kostick-Johnson also noted an additional advantage of this simple action - it helps identify potential joint problems. According to the specialist, to lie on the floor, a person needs to engage almost all joints and muscles of their body. If pain or a feeling of tightness occurs during the exercise, this may signal the need for a doctor's consultation.
