Woman from China sold her children to support streamers

In China, a mother sold her two sons for more than $11,600 and spent the money on donations to streamers and buying clothes. This was reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

According to the publication, 26-year-old Huang, who has only primary education, was herself an adopted child in the past and left home early due to lack of proper care. In October 2020, facing serious financial difficulties after the birth of her first son, she sold the infant to an unknown woman for $6,300. The young mother directed all the proceeds to virtual gifts and donations to internet streamers.

After the money ran out, Huang decided to take a shocking step — to give birth to another child with the purpose of subsequently selling him. In 2022, her second son was born, whom she gave away for $5,300. The girl again spent the received amount on donations and purchasing fashionable clothes.

Both boys were taken from their new "owners" and placed under state care. Huang herself was sentenced by the court to five years and two months in prison for fraud and human trafficking.
