Vladimir Putin changed the leadership of the Ground Forces: Army General Oleg Salyukov received a new appointment
A decree by the President of Russia on personnel changes in the country's top military leadership has been published on the official legal information portal.
According to the document, Army General Oleg Salyukov has been relieved of his position as Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces and appointed to the post of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia.
Information about who will take the vacant position of Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces has not yet been officially disclosed.
It is worth noting that Oleg Salyukov has led Russia's Ground Forces for ten years, since 2014. Under his command, the parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day was held on May 9, 2025.
