Trump rejected Ukraine's request for American air defense systems, shifting responsibility to Europe. This is reported by the German publication Bild, citing sources in the German government.
According to the publication, Germany will likely have to not only finance the supplies but also allocate its own air defense complexes from the Bundeswehr arsenal, as the US President categorically refused to deploy American weapons.
Sources from Bild emphasize that Trump clearly outlined his position: European allies should not limit themselves to financial support, but share existing weapons and purchase new ones exclusively from American manufacturers. Notably, Germany is already facing a serious shortage of air defense systems.
Earlier, information emerged that the United Kingdom is exploring the possibility of purchasing American weapons for Ukraine as part of an initiative proposed by President Trump.
