In Saudi Arabia, the "sleeping prince" Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al Saud, who had been in a coma for more than two decades, has passed away.
"Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Saud, known as the 'sleeping prince', has died at the age of 35, after spending about 20 years in a coma in one of the specialized medical centers in Saudi Arabia," the official statement says.
It has become known that Prince Al-Waleed was born in April 1990. Tragedy struck him in 2005 when, as a result of a car accident in London, he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and cerebral hemorrhage, after which he fell into a coma.
"With great sadness and grief, we mourn our beloved son, Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today," his father, Prince Khalid bin Talal bin Abdul-Aziz, wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
