The Prime Minister of India addressed the nation regarding the conflict with Pakistan

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a temporary cessation of military strikes against Pakistan as part of Operation "Sindur." The Indian leader emphasized that the country's further steps will directly depend on the actions of the Pakistani side.

As reported by kommersant.ru, this is Modi's first public statement since the beginning of the military operation.

"India has stopped strikes against Pakistan and will respond depending on its steps," said the Prime Minister of India.

The situation between the two nuclear powers escalated on the night of May 7, when the Indian armed forces attacked targets on Pakistani territory. In response, on the night of May 10, Pakistan launched a large-scale military operation against India. On the same day, US President Donald Trump reported that an agreement had been reached between the parties on a ceasefire.
