As TASS reports, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, made an important statement at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum about the progress of the investigation into the high-profile case.

"The criminal case counts 500 volumes. Enormous investigative work has been carried out. 300 inspections and 2,500 forensic examinations have been conducted. And soon the case will be sent to court," the head of the department told forum participants.

The head of the Investigative Committee emphasized the scale of the tragedy: more than 2,300 people have been recognized as victims in the case, and over 1,000 people have been questioned as witnesses.

He noted the prompt response of law enforcement agencies to the committed crime. First of all, four citizens of Tajikistan who directly carried out the terrorist attack were detained. According to Bastrykin, 19 suspects in the case are currently under arrest.

Bastyrkin indicated that an entire organized criminal group was behind the attack on "Crocus City Hall."

According to the materials of the Investigative Committee presented during the speech of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, the total damage from the terrorist attack at "Crocus City Hall" in Moscow is estimated at almost 6 billion rubles (more than 125 million manats - ed.)
