Tragedy in China: Death Toll from Flooding in Inner Mongolia Reaches 12
According to Xinhua news agency, the number of tourists killed as a result of the devastating flood in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China has increased to 12 people. The large-scale search and rescue operation involved more than 1,600 rescuers. The body of the last deceased tourist, who was swept away along with a vehicle by the powerful water flow, was discovered on Friday morning.
Recall that earlier last week, eight deaths and four missing persons were reported. The tragic incident occurred on August 16 at 10:00 PM Beijing time at a tourist campsite in the Bayannur urban district, when a sudden water surge struck the vacationers' camp.
