Putin: Kyiv doesnt need peace

Kyiv rejected the proposal for a brief humanitarian ceasefire, which, according to Putin, demonstrates unwillingness for peace

As Interfax reports, President Vladimir Putin expressed his position at a meeting with government members, commenting on the Ukrainian side's refusal of a temporary ceasefire.

"Regarding another refusal of a 2-3 day ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, this is not happening for the first time. It doesn't surprise us, but only convinces us that the current Kyiv regime doesn't need peace at all," said the Russian leader.

"Peace for them most likely means loss of power. And power for this regime, apparently, is more important than peace and the lives of people whom they apparently don't consider their own," Putin emphasized during the meeting.
