Powerful explosion at a gas station in Rome: 21 people injured, including rescuers
"At the moment, 21 people have been injured, mostly rescuers and law enforcement officers," reports Fanpage.
According to Fanpage, the tragedy occurred after a truck collided with a pipeline. The collision caused a fire, which led to a powerful explosion of fuel at the gas station.
A thick column of smoke rose over the Italian capital, visible from different parts of the city. As a result of the incident, several buildings and dozens of cars in the vicinity were damaged.
According to the Roma Today portal, the flames spread to a nearby sports center and city park. Authorities organized the evacuation of residents from neighborhoods adjacent to the explosion site.
