The legendary Ferrari car of Michael Schumacher was sold at auction for a record $18.17 million at the prestigious RM Sotheby's auction, as reported by TUT.AZ with reference to The New York Times (NYT) publication from May 25.
The famous racing car, which brought victories to the German driver in 2001, set an absolute price record among all Formula 1 cars ever sold and took an honorable fourth place in the ranking of the most expensive racing cars, second only to three Mercedes vehicles.
It was behind the wheel of this iconic Ferrari that Schumacher triumphantly won the Monaco Grand Prix and the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2001, which helped him win another championship title in the royal races.
