Iran requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council

Iran strongly condemns US actions and demands emergency UN Security Council meeting

Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, made a harsh statement categorically condemning the United States' military actions against the Islamic Republic. In an official letter sent to the UN leadership, the diplomat called the events a "gross violation of international law".

"Undoubtedly, the US military aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran constitutes a gross violation of international law and binding international norms enshrined in the UN Charter," states Iravani's address to the Security Council Chairman and the Secretary-General of the organization. The Iranian diplomat emphasized the critical importance of the situation, characterizing the US actions as "barbaric and criminal." In this regard, Tehran insists on immediately convening an emergency meeting of the Security Council to discuss what Iran considers a "flagrant and illegal act of aggression".
