European leaders held urgent talks with Trump after his two-hour conversation with Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron reported an emergency telephone conversation between the leaders of several European states and US President Donald Trump. The consultations took place immediately after the American leader's lengthy two-hour conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I apologize for keeping you waiting, but several European colleagues and I had a telephone conversation with President Trump after his talks with President Putin," Macron explained to participants of the Choose France investment conference taking place in Versailles.

The French leader refrained from disclosing the content of the talks with the American president.
