China shocked with statement about causes and culprits behind COVID-19 emergence

China put forward a loud version: COVID-19 could have originated in the US, not in Wuhan

As reported by Daily Mail, Chinese authorities made a resonant statement in a "white paper" published by the Information Bureau of the State Council of the PRC. In the document, Beijing calls on the United States to conduct a thorough investigation into the possible origin of the coronavirus on American territory.

The report states that the US government is trying to evade responsibility for failures in fighting the pandemic by placing blame on China and politicizing the issue of the virus's origin. The Chinese side points to the possible presence of COVID-19 in America even before the official outbreak in Wuhan, referring to cases of respiratory diseases in 2019 and serological studies that found antibodies to the virus before December 2019.

Beijing harshly criticized the actions of the Trump administration, which put forward the version about the creation of the virus at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. In response, China stated that Washington has not provided the world community with complete information about its own outbreaks and ignored the concerns of the international community.

The report also notes that about 1500 incidents with dangerous pathogens, including coronaviruses, have been recorded in US laboratories, although most of them were minor. The Chinese side accused America of concealing data and called for an end to accusatory rhetoric, focusing instead on solving its own systemic healthcare problems.
