The Tagansky District Court of Moscow sent blogger Arsen Markaryan, accused of insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, to prison.
As reported by TASS, this information was provided by representatives of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian capital.
"At the request of the investigators of the capital's IC, Arsen Markaryan has been given a preventive measure in the form of detention. Investigative actions aimed at collecting and securing the evidence base continue. As part of the criminal case investigation, he will be checked for involvement in other crimes against public safety and state power committed on the internet," the IC stated.
On August 23, investigators detained Markaryan in the Moscow region. According to the investigation, no later than February 25, 2025, he posted a video on a popular video hosting site for an unlimited audience, which contains information insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland.
