In January 2023, Joe Grogan was diagnosed with blood cancer. A few months later, on April 14, he secretly married his caregiver Lisa Flaherty, who was 26 years younger than him. Notably, the wealthy farmer's relatives were not even aware of the existence of a romantic relationship between him and his caregiver, let alone the wedding ceremony.

Fate had it that just one day after the marriage, the farmer passed away. As a result of this brief marriage, Lisa became the owner of an 89-hectare farm valued at €5.5 million (about half a billion rubles).
