Self-made millionaire: how a Reddit user built a business empire without higher education and changed his approach to money
"I own five small business companies, but I haven't been involved in day-to-day operations for a long time. I made my first million from a dry cleaning business. Gradually, I entered other fields, but kept just enough for myself to cover food and a fairly simple life," shared a Reddit user with the nickname Chirosu, who told his success story.
After succeeding with the dry cleaning business, the enterprising businessman successively launched a laundry service, a landscaping company, organized plumbing supplies, and created a nanny matching service. This entire journey took about eight years and required iron financial discipline. Only when the business began to consistently generate profit did he allow himself a more relaxed attitude toward spending.
"Now I regularly spend money on private jets, although sometimes I fly commercial flights, hotels and experiences. There were also major one-time purchases - an expensive SUV, a house for my parents, and paying medical bills for a loved one," admitted Chirosu.
He added that none of his close ones have any idea how wealthy he is - he doesn't tell them out of modesty. Meanwhile, he has invested his money in 12 projects by Los Angeles businessmen, which provides him with an almost uninterrupted flow of income.
