Obesity medications had a surprising effect on the male body

Scientists make breakthrough: anti-obesity drugs significantly increase testosterone in overweight men

A revolutionary discovery in men's health shocked participants at the ENDO 2025 medical conference in San Francisco. Researchers found that popular obesity medications can significantly improve hormone levels in men suffering from excess weight or type 2 diabetes.

The large-scale study included 110 adult men taking modern weight loss medications - semaglutide, dulaglutide, or tirzepatide. Importantly, none of the participants received hormone therapy. For a year and a half, scientists meticulously tracked changes in total and free testosterone, while simultaneously recording the dynamics of patients' body weight.

The obtained data surprised even experienced specialists: weight reduction of just 10% led to impressive improvement in hormonal balance. The number of men with normal testosterone levels increased from 53% to 77%. This clearly demonstrates that modern obesity medications work comprehensively - not only helping to get rid of extra kilograms and normalize blood sugar levels, but also having a beneficial effect on reproductive health.

Scientists emphasized that these medications should be considered as part of a comprehensive approach to improving men's health, not just as a tool in the fight against excess weight.
