Named the hidden cause of chronic headache

Hidden threat: wisdom teeth can cause chronic headaches, expert warns. Orthodontist Irina Butorina revealed to "Lenta.ru" the non-obvious connection between discomfort in the head and unerupted molars.

The doctor explained that wisdom teeth erupt last, so due to lack of space in the jaw, they often remain inside the gum or develop incorrectly, putting pressure on adjacent teeth.

For this reason, wisdom teeth can cause tension in the temples, jaw, and neck. In severe cases, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) develops, which is accompanied by clicking, pain, and limited movement when opening the mouth.

"Many patients don't even realize that their chronic headaches, nighttime teeth grinding, and clicking when opening the mouth are consequences of bite disorders caused by hidden pathology of wisdom teeth growth," the doctor added.
