Scientists have discovered a beverage that, when consumed regularly, can negatively affect heart health. Studies have shown that skim milk can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, despite its reputation as a healthy product.
Specialists have found that skim milk often contains more sugar than its regular counterpart. The reduction in fat content leads manufacturers to add extra carbohydrates to improve taste. This, in turn, contributes to sharp spikes in blood glucose levels, which increases the risk of developing diabetes, hypertension, and obesity - key factors in heart disease.
"Many people consider low-fat dairy products healthier, but in reality, they can trigger inflammatory processes in the body and increase triglyceride levels, which negatively affects heart function," cardiologists note.
Doctors recommend choosing natural products with moderate fat content and minimal sugar content. Previously, experts also warned about the dangers of sugary carbonated drinks and energy drinks, which overload the cardiovascular system.
