How much shashlik (barbecue/kebab) can you eat in one sitting?

Endocrinologist and dietitian Anton Polyakov revealed in an interview with aif.ru how much shashlik (grilled meat) one can eat in a single sitting without harming their health.

"In one meal, our body is able to normally digest approximately 100–150 grams of cooked meat. If you eat a whole kilogram of shashlik, there is no question of normal digestion. For everything to be fully processed in the stomach and for the protein components and amino acids to be absorbed in the intestines, you should aim for 100–150 grams," the specialist explained.

According to the dietitian, exceeding this amount can lead to unpleasant consequences for the body. Instead of a pleasant aftertaste, shashlik can result in heaviness, bloating, and significant discomfort.

In addition, Polyakov cautioned against buying pre-marinated meat from the store — according to him, it is much better to prepare the marinade yourself.
