General practitioner and nutritionist Irina Tyurina revealed five scientifically proven ways to increase happiness levels. The specialist shared exclusive information in an interview with media representatives.
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to "Lenta.ru", from a medical perspective, happiness is the result of complex biochemical processes in the body. Neurotransmitters play a key role in these processes: dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and oxytocin. The amino acid tryptophan is particularly important - an essential component for the synthesis of serotonin, which directly affects emotional stability and a person's inner harmony.
According to the expert, a fundamental step toward feeling happy is starting the day calmly. Morning stress, anxiety-inducing information, and constant rushing significantly increase levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which prevents the body from entering "joy mode." The specialist recommends waking up at a measured pace, accompanying awakening with pleasant music, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea by the window, and necessarily getting a dose of natural morning light - this effectively reduces stress levels and stimulates dopamine production.
Additionally, Tyurina emphasized the exceptional benefits of 15-minute walks during daylight hours and genuine laughter. These simple actions actively promote the production of serotonin and endorphins - our body's natural antidepressants. Regular walks help effectively "reboot" the brain and stimulate creative thinking, while genuine laughter significantly improves the functioning of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, enhances blood supply to the brain, and maintains stable production of "happiness hormones."
