To successfully lose weight by summer, it's important to maintain your current weight in January, and it's better to start actively reducing the calorie content of your diet from February, said surgeon Victoria Smirnova.
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to "Gazeta.Ru", the specialist suggests considering the winter months as a strategic stage of preparing the body, not a time for exhausting diets. According to Smirnova, January should be devoted to gradual adaptation: implementing healthy eating principles, taking vitamin D, gradually increasing daily activity, and monitoring weight without radical attempts to reduce it.
In February and March, the doctor emphasizes, it's time for a gradual decrease in the calorie content of food by limiting simple carbohydrates and increasing the protein component of the diet. This period is ideal for maximizing physical activity. In the absence of contraindications, the specialist recommends implementing intermittent fasting according to the 16/8 scheme.
The doctor emphasizes the need to maintain normal protein intake, sufficient body hydration, and replacing traditional sweets with healthy alternatives – baked apples with aromatic cinnamon, delicate cottage cheese casseroles, or refreshing fruit jellies.
In April-May, notes Smirnova, the final stage of "polishing" the figure and nutrition comes with simultaneous consolidation of the achieved results. During this time, it is recommended to enrich the menu with fresh vegetables and greens, as well as make final adjustments to the training program.
According to the medical professional, such a sequential approach allows you to meet spring without the depletion characteristic after severe restrictions, maintain energy, and make the final phase of weight loss more harmonious and effective.
