OpenAI introduced revolutionary technology for artificial intelligence interaction with the human brain
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to peopletalk.ru, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced an ambitious project that could fundamentally change the way humans interact with artificial intelligence.
The revolutionary development is being conducted by specialists from Merge Labs, which is creating a fundamentally new "brain-computer" interface.
The key advantage of the technology lies in the complete elimination of surgical intervention. Unlike existing developments, the new method does not require implantation of devices into the human head.
Instead of traditional electrodes, scientists plan to use special molecular compounds capable of directly interacting with neurons in the brain.
"The chips will connect with neurons using molecules instead of electrodes, and will transmit and receive information through ultrasound," notes Merge Labs.
According to the presented description, data exchange between the brain and computer will be carried out through ultrasonic signals — both for reading information from the brain and for transmitting back. If the research is successfully completed, this approach could form the basis of future systems where artificial intelligence will be integrated into human thinking in the most natural and safe way.
