Constantly cold hands and feet can be a sign of serious diseases such as anemia, heart and lung diseases. This was reported by therapist, cardiologist, candidate of medical sciences Andrey Kondrakhin.
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to RT, according to the specialist, women experience cold extremities more often because heat loss exceeds heat production: the male body has more muscle mass, which generates heat.
The doctor also noted that such symptoms are often observed in newborns who have not yet formed full thermoregulation, as well as in elderly people - due to slowed metabolism and circulatory disorders.
At the same time, cold hands and feet can also indicate pathologies, including anemia, chronic heart failure, lung diseases, and also be a consequence of poisoning or frostbite.
For temporary improvement, Kondrakhin recommended wearing loose warm clothing and footwear, as well as consuming hot drinks - tea or broth, which, due to the "dynamic effect of food," help distribute heat in the body.
However, the doctor emphasized: if the cause of cold extremities is a disease, it is necessary first of all to treat the underlying illness.
