Zelensky: decisions on Ukraine at Trump and Putin meeting impossible without Kyiv's participation
As reported by TUT.AZ, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated during the Ukrainian Youth Forum "Youth is here!" that the presidents of the USA and Russia will not be able to make any decisions on the Ukrainian issue during the upcoming meeting in Alaska.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of negotiations between Trump and Putin, but noted a principled position: "Talking about Ukraine without Ukraine is impossible, and no one will accept such a format."
"Therefore, the conversation between the US President and Putin can certainly be important for their bilateral track. But they cannot make any decisions about Ukraine without us," said the Ukrainian leader.
The President of Ukraine expressed hope for Trump's understanding of this principle. Zelensky also expressed confidence in the prospect of a trilateral meeting with the participation of the leaders of the USA, Russia, and Ukraine, noting that such a summit is necessary to end the military conflict.
Recall that the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 15, in Alaska (USA).
