WHO concerned about reduction in measles and meningitis vaccination programs

Alarming trend: rollback of vaccination triggers surge in deadly diseases worldwide

As reported by TUT.AZ, the World Health Organization is raising alarm due to increased outbreaks of dangerous diseases amid reduction in population immunization programs.

WHO experts warn that insufficient vaccination measures could provoke the return of nearly defeated diseases, including diphtheria. The international organization is most concerned about the rapid spread of measles in different regions of the planet.

"Since 2021, the number of cases has been growing year by year, reflecting the reduction in immunization coverage that occurred during and after the coronavirus pandemic in many communities," says the statement published on the organization's website.
