Who cannot drive in Russia from September 1?

From September 1, an updated list of medical conditions prohibiting driving comes into force in Russia

From the beginning of autumn, a new expanded list of medical contraindications for driving vehicles starts to take effect in Russia. The corresponding document has already been published on the official portal of legal acts.

The government approved an updated list of medical indications, contraindications, and restrictions for drivers back in April of this year. The new version includes psychological development disorders, among which are autism, Rett syndrome, and Asperger syndrome. In addition, the list has been supplemented with visual disorders - partial color blindness and impaired perception of red and green colors.

In total, the updated list of medical contraindications contains 11 items.

In June, lawyer Turgunboy Zokirov drew attention to the fact that the presence of depression in a driver can serve as grounds for revocation of a driver's license. According to his explanations, license revocation is only threatened in cases of officially diagnosed conditions of "Depressive Episode" and "Recurrent Depressive Disorder." The lawyer also warned about the dangers of driving while taking antidepressants, as many of these medications affect the nervous system.
