Ukraine will receive large-scale financial support for the energy sector
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso signed an important agreement on supporting Ukraine's energy sector.
As reported by TUT.AZ, Shmyhal posted this information on his Facebook page.
According to the signed document, Ukraine will attract 270 million euros under state guarantees. Additionally, the agreement provides for a grant of 140 million euros from the Norwegian government.
"This will allow NJSC 'Naftogaz of Ukraine' to import significant volumes of natural gas to prepare for the next heating season," Shmyhal explained.
It was previously reported that in 2025, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros to support Ukraine's economy and business. In particular, 1 billion euros should go to support the country's energy sector.
