Turkish lira updated its historical anti-record during trading on August 13
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Investing, Turkey's national currency continued its decline, depreciating by 0.09% since the start of trading and reaching 40.74 lira per dollar. During the trading session, an absolute minimum was recorded — 40.7455 lira per US currency.
Over the past week, the Turkish lira lost 0.15% of its value, and the annual depreciation exceeded an impressive 21%. The situation looks particularly dramatic in the long term — just five years ago, one dollar was worth only 7.3 lira.
