The Director of National Intelligence of the United States, Tulsi Gabbard, has initiated an investigation into two cases of classified information leaks, forwarding the relevant materials to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution, reports TUT.AZ.
"Today I forwarded facts about two leaks of classified intelligence information to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution," Gabbard stated on her account on the social network X.
According to the National Intelligence chief, a third criminal case is expected to be initiated soon, related to the illegal transfer of classified information to The Washington Post (WP).
Gabbard emphasized that such leaks are carried out "for partisan political purposes to undermine US President Donald Trump's agenda." She firmly stated that "everyone who 'leaks' classified information will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Gabbard did not disclose specific details regarding The Washington Post material in question.
