IDF Chief of Staff Orders Preparation for Strikes on Syria in Defense of Druze Population

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to newsru.co.il, the IDF press service announced decisive measures regarding the situation in Syria.

"During the course of today, the Israel Defense Forces deployed aviation to strike aggressors who attacked civilian Druze residents on the outskirts of Damascus. The Israel Defense Forces is closely monitoring the development of the situation in the Syrian region, its units have been brought to full combat readiness for defense and response to various scenarios," the official statement says.

Earlier, the office of the Israeli Prime Minister informed that according to the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, the Israeli military carried out a preemptive operation against an extremist group that was planning to continue attacks on the Druze population in the city of Askhania in the Damascus province of Syria.
