Tragedy in Thailand: pilgrimage ends with elderly woman's death

A family visit to a temple in Isan province ended in an irreparable tragedy. As reported by The Thaiger, on July 11 during extended holidays, a 75-year-old woman died under the wheels of her own son's car.

According to media reports, a family of three - an elderly mother with her 47-year-old son and 55-year-old daughter - arrived at the temple, but due to the influx of pilgrims, they couldn't find a parking spot nearby. The man dropped off his mother and sister on the roadside, where they planned to wait for passing monks to give donations. After driving away to turn around, the driver made a fatal mistake upon returning - instead of pressing the brake pedal, he pressed the gas and hit his mother. The sister managed to jump aside and avoid being hit.

Despite resuscitation attempts, the elderly woman could not be saved.
